Link checker

Paste your BioFlow, Linktree, Beacons or other public page URL to check its links. See broken links, redirects and their final destinations, insecure HTTP addresses, UTM tags and duplicates. It checks up to 50 distinct links from one page. Free, with no account needed.

How to check your bio page links

  1. Paste a page URL. Enter the public page whose links you want to check, then choose Check links.
  2. Review the results. Look for broken or timed-out links. Redirects show the final destination; open a flagged link yourself before changing it.
  3. Clean up your links. Replace outdated destinations, use HTTPS where available, review UTM tags and remove unintended duplicates.

What it checks

  • Up to 50 distinct web links checked from one page
  • OK, redirect, broken, unreachable and timed-out results
  • Final destinations, HTTP warnings, UTM parameters and duplicate counts
  • A free JSON or Markdown API with no key

How to read your results

OK means a link returned a successful HTTP response. Redirect means it reached a successful response at another address. Broken means the final server returned a 4xx or 5xx error. Unreachable or timed out means the checker could not complete a safe request, or the site refused automated checks; it does not prove the link is broken.

HTTP warnings flag links that start without HTTPS. Duplicate counts help spot repeated destinations. UTM tags show the campaign information attached to each link. Links outside the web schemes, or beyond the checking limit, show Not checked and a reason.

This reads the links in one page's HTML, including links on the same site. It does not run JavaScript or crawl further pages. Review flagged links in your browser before editing your link-in-bio page.

Use the free API

Send a GET request with your page URL encoded as the url parameter. Add Accept: text/markdown for a Markdown answer. No key or account is needed.

GET /api/tools/link-check?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgetbioflow.com%2F

API errors

  • 400 missing_url or invalid_url: supply a valid public page address.
  • 422 unreadable_page: the page was blocked, unreachable, too large, too slow or not HTML.
  • 429 rate_limited: wait for Retry-After; the allowance is 30 calls a minute and 300 a day.
  • 503 busy: all four scan slots are in use; try again after 5 seconds.
Link checks, answered

Why does a link show as a redirect?

Its server sent the checker to another URL. Short links, moved pages and HTTP-to-HTTPS upgrades commonly do this. A redirect is not necessarily broken: check that the final destination is the one you intended.

What are UTM parameters?

UTM parameters are tags in a link's query string, such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign. Analytics tools use them to identify where a visit came from. The checker lists every utm_ parameter, including repeated tags, without changing it.

Why do some sites block link checkers?

Some sites require a login, JavaScript or a browser challenge. Others restrict automated requests. A 403 or an unreachable result can therefore appear for a link that works in your browser. Confirm flagged links manually before removing them.

What does the checker read?

It reads one public HTML page, up to 2 MiB, and checks its first 50 distinct http or https navigation links, including relative links. It does not crawl linked pages or run JavaScript. Links added only after JavaScript runs may be missing. Fragments, mailto:, tel: and other schemes are listed as not checked.

What are the limits?

The page has 8 seconds to load. Six links are checked at a time, with 4 seconds per link including redirects and any GET fallback. HEAD is tried first; a 403, 405 or 501 triggers a GET whose body is discarded at headers. At most 5 redirects are followed. The listing holds up to 200 distinct links, each at most 2048 characters; omitted occurrences are counted. Four page scans can run per server process. Only standard web ports are allowed, and private networks are refused.

Is anything stored, and how fresh are results?

No account, database record or saved report is created. Results stay temporarily in server memory for 5 minutes to avoid repeatedly checking the same page; failed page reads are cached for 1 minute. The cache holds at most 100 pages per process. The API includes fetchedAt and ageSeconds so you can see when the check ran.

Is there a free API?

Yes. GET /api/tools/link-check?url= followed by your encoded page URL returns JSON. Send Accept: text/markdown for Markdown. No API key is needed. Each caller can make 30 calls a minute and 300 a day.

How are duplicates counted?

Identical resolved URLs are checked once and show their occurrence count. Relative and absolute links to the same URL count together, and web-link fragments are ignored. Different query parameters remain separate links.
